Starting today, LegiStorm Pro subscribers can now see which staffer covers specific legislative issues for each member of Congress. This has been one of the most requested features since we launched LegiStorm Pro.
LegiStorm Pro users will be able to see who is covering issues for any senator or representative by going to the staff directory page. For example, the staff directory for Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) shows that legislative assistant Billy Oden covers health, international affairs and economics and public finance, among other issues, for the House majority leader. You can also see the list of issues Oden covers on his biographical summary page.
Pro subscribers can also search for staffers who cover a specific issue from our detailed search page, as well as narrowing the search by other criteria, such as a search for staffers who hold a certain title and cover a specific issue.
LegiStorm tracks more than 30 separate issue areas for each office, with more than 17,000 issue area assignments made in all. We are currently tracking staffer issue assignments across the Hill in real time, along with staffer hires, job changes and departures. The information on staffer issues also opens the possibilities for even more robust functionality which we anticipate launching soon.
