Former Reps. Frank, West and LaTourette still late in providing final financial reports to House

Posted by LegiStorm on March 25, 2013

Former Reps. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Allen West (R-Fla.) and Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) still have not filed required financial disclosures with the Clerk of the House since leaving office in January.

Although Members of Congress are supposed to file a termination report or a deadline extension for a termination report within 30 days after departing, Frank, West and LaTourette have not submitted any filings to the House. The penalty for filing late is $200.

Each of the former congressmen has been in the news over the last few months for different reasons. Frank openly expressed interest in being named interim senator for the seat now held by Sen. Mo Cowan (D-Mass.). West, a frequent guest on cable news shows, appeared at the popular CPAC confab last week and delivered a high-profile speech before the large audience on conservative values. LaTourette made news in January when he and his wife, Jennifer LaTourette, started a government affairs arm of Cleveland-based law firm McDonald Hopkins in D.C. and he became head of the Republican Main Street Partnership, a moderate Republican-leaning PAC.
