Trade lawyer and lobbyist revolves to House Ways and Means

Posted by John Sugden on May 20, 2014
A former business lobbyist has taken a staff position on the House Ways and Means Committee.

Nasim Deylami, who last worked for General Motors as a customs attorney has returned to the public sector to work under Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) as trade counsel for the Trade Subcommittee.

An international trade and customs law veteran, Deylami formerly worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Commerce before transitioning to the U.S. Council for International Business, an advocacy group. Deylami began lobbying on the Council's behalf in 2013, before leaving for GM.

Neylami holds a JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law and received an LLM in international and comparative law from the George Washington University Law School.
