Staffer with health policy background leaves the Hill for lobbying firm

After climbing the ranks in Rep. Lamar Smith's (Rep.-Texas) office, former staffer Shannon Moore has brought her legislative experience to law and lobbying firm Arnold and Porter.

Moore joined Smith's staff as an intern in 2007. During the ensuing seven years, Moore worked up the policy ranks eventually becoming a legislative assistant in 2011. Moore also briefly worked as an event coordinator at Trident Systems in 2010.

Moore joins Arnold and Porter this month as a legislative specialist. She has not filed lobbying papers yet.

Moore holds a BA in psychology from George Mason University and a master's of public health from George Washington University. She handled health care and pharmaceutical issues while working for Smith.

Arnold and Porter boasts a robust health care practice.
