Tax reform lobbyist starts with Senate Budget Committee

Posted by Jenna Ebersole on Feb. 12, 2015

A lobbyist who fought for higher corporate taxes has joined the Senate Budget Committee under Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Stephen Wamhoff is now senior tax analyst at the committee after registering to lobby for eight years with Citizens for Tax Justice, where he served as Legislative Director. Before his time at CTJ, Wamhoff also registered to lobby between 2005 and 2006 with the Center for Community Change, where he advocated on budget and appropriations issues.

During his long stint with CTJ, Wamhoff lobbied on a range of tax issues, from closing corporate tax loopholes to personal income tax reform and tax extenders.

Wamhoff wrote extensively on tax issues at CTJ and holds law and master's degrees from Georgetown University and a bachelor's from New York University.
