Caught Our Eye

Longtime staffer now working for MITRE Corp.

Twenty years would be more than enough time on the Hill for most people. William Klein made it 22.

The ex-staffer has moved to MITRE Corp., where he works as manager of government relations. The nonprofit handles Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) for various agencies of the federal government.

Klein had served on the Surveys and Investigations team of the House Appropriations Committee since 2011. He's also worked as a legislative director for former Rep. Tillie Fowler (R-Fla.), senior legislative assistant/legislative director for former Rep. Lawrence Coughlin (R-Pa.) and legislative aide for former Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.).

From 2002 until 2011, Klein worked for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, most recently as assistant director of communications.

He holds a BA in political science from George Washington University and an MA in national security studies from Georgetown.
