Anti-special interests group lobbies for FEC reform

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Aug. 17, 2016

A nonprofit that aims to reduce the influence of "well-financed" special interest groups and that counts dozens of former members of Congress among its members has filed its first federal lobbying registration.

Issue One, which is lobbying on its own behalf, is advocating for increased political-spending transparency and FEC reform, among other issues.

Issue One's "ReFormers Caucus" is made up of 150 former members of Congress and governors. Though a bipartisan group, most of its members are Democrats.
