Chamber of Commerce group banking on Senate counsel

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on April 11, 2017

A U.S. Chamber of Commerce initiative has snatched up a new director from the Senate Banking Committee.

Brian Daner had worked as the committee’s Republican senior investigative counsel since 2015 before joining the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness this month. The group is a Chamber of Commerce program aimed at “[advancing] America’s global leadership in capital formation,” according to its website.

Like its parent, the CMCC is actively involved in government advocacy, last year lobbying on financial, corporate governance and employee-benefit legislation.

Earlier this year, the advocacy group added new senior director Brian O’Shea, previously the Republican policy director of the House Financial Services Committee’s Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee.
