Rep. LoBiondo legislative director takes to the sky

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on May 15, 2017

Developers of a drone-traffic management app have flown off with Rep. Frank LoBiondo's (R-N.J.) legislative director.

Matthew Satterley is now federal public policy manager for AirMap. The California-based startup provides users with real-time data and improves communication between commercial drone pilots, airline pilots and airports, according to Wired. The company, which raised $26 million in a recent round of venture funding, lobbies on a number of issues related to the Federal Aviation Administration, which regulates drone use.

Satterley had worked for LoBiondo since 2014. He has also worked for former Reps. Ann Marie Buerkle (R-N.Y.), Connie Mack (R-Fla.) and John McHugh (R-N.Y.).
