Ex-Obama aides file as foreign agents for Ontario

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Sept. 22, 2017

Two members of Barack Obama's White House registered as foreign agents on behalf of the government of Ontario, Canada.

Anita Dunn, Obama's second communications director, and Steve Krupin, a senior presidential speechwriter, are among nine SKDKnickerbocker officers doing media and public-relations work to "raise [Ontario's] profile" on trade issues, according to a Justice Department disclosure.

This is SKDKnickerbocker's first filing under the Foreign Agent Registration Act, as well as the first ones for Krupin and Dunn. The public relations firm will charge a $25,000 monthly retainer and $25,000 for communications work, which includes "narrative development, speech and media training, the crafting of a core speech and event preparation."
