Anti-tax waste group adds Rep. Duncan aide

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Nov. 17, 2017

Just in time for Congress to debate the new Republican Party tax plan, a fiscally conservative advocacy group has turned to the Hill to hire its new government-affairs director.

Allen Johnson, now with Citizens Against Government Waste, had worked for Rep. John Duncan (R-Tenn.) since 2010, most recently as a senior legislative assistant. He has not yet registered as a federal lobbyist through the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, the nonprofit's lobbying arm, which lobbies Congress on a number of tax spending-cut issues.

Johnson replaces former CAGW government-affairs director Bill Christian, who took a position as Rep. Randy Weber's (R-Texas) legislative director earlier this fall.
