Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Dec. 13, 2017

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), chair emeritus of the House Natural Resources Committee, has lost his top adviser on natural resource, environment and energy policy.

Mike DeFilippis started this week as the American Forest and Paper Association's director of government affairs. Besides being Young's senior policy adviser, he has also worked for Republican Reps. Peter Roskam (Ill.), Steve Southerland (Fla.) and Richard Pombo (Calif.).

The AFPA has so far disclosed nearly $1.9 million spent on in-house lobbying and another $420,000 on contracts with Holland & Knight, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Fierce Government Relations. The trade group lobbies Congress on a wide range of issues, including environmental regulations, tax reform and the North American Free Trade Agreement.
