Ex-committee aide lobbying for school-board group

An education group representing the country's school boards has made a lobbyist out of a former Education Committee staffer.

Whitney Riggs, the National School Boards Association's senior legislative analyst for federal advocacy and public policy, has filed for the first time as a lobbyist through the NSBA's lobbying arm, the National School Boards Action Center. Riggs is lobbying on a number of education issues, including gun safety, child nutrition and school voucher programs.

Riggs formerly worked as a professional staff member with the House Education Committee under Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), whose personal office she also served.
