House Financial Services counsel moves to White House

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Aug. 1, 2018

On the heels of his old boss's retirement, a House Financial Services attorney has quietly moved to the White House to be a lawyer for the president.

Joe Gammello is now associate general counsel in the Executive Office of the President. Gamello holds a law degree from the University of Virginia and a master's of theology from Wheaton College.

He had worked as counsel to Rep. Jeb Hensarling's (R-Texas) Financial Services Committee since 2014. Hensarling will retire at the end of this term.
