EPA director returns to the Hill for Sen. Hoeven

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Nov. 19, 2018

After half a year at the turbulent Environmental Protection Agency, one Republican staffer is back on the Hill.

Preston Cory is now a legislative assistant handling Sen. John Hoeven's (R-N.D.) energy and environment portfolios. She most recently worked as the intergovernmental relations director to the deputy associate administrator in the EPA's Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations.

Cory joined the EPA in the spring, just as the agency's leadership began to unravel. She worked under then-Administrator Scott Pruitt for several months before his July resignation over ethics scandals. Cory previously worked for Republican Reps. Scott DesJarlais (Tenn.) and Barbara Comstock (Va.).
