Ex-Rep. Royce registers as first-time lobbyist

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Oct. 23, 2019

Ex-Rep. Ed Royce's (R-Calif.) inaugural lobbying registration comes on behalf of an industry he's long supported.

Royce is working on behalf of the Credit Union National Association. The Brownstein Hyatt team is lobbying USAID on unspecified financial issues "relating to international credit unions," per a disclosure the law firm filed earlier this week. Royce retired from Congress at the end of last term and joined Brownstein Hyatt as a policy director in April.

In Congress, Royce gained a reputation for his strong support of credit unions, with industry bigwigs labeling him as a credit union "champion" and "friend" for his work on the Hill.
