Joint Economic Committee analyst joins trade-focused lobbying firm

A Joint Economic Committee staffer has left the Hill for a trade-focused lobbying firm.

Daniel Neumann has been hired as a trade adviser for Sorini, Samet and Associates LLC. Based in Washington, D.C., SS&A has been a part of the passage of major U.S. trade negotiations and related pieces of legislation. The firm has lobbied on behalf of Ann Taylor, Polo Ralph Lauren, Columbia Sportswear and J.C. Penney Co. Inc. Its foreign clientelle have included governments and interests in Bangladesh, Colombia, Jordan and Bahrain.

Neumann brings more than four years of Hill experience to his new position. He most recently worked as a policy analyst for the Joint Economic Committee, previously serving as a staffer for the U.S.-China Economic Security Review Commission and for Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.).
