Sen. Enzi's former legislative director files for chemical industry lobby

Posted by Nate Hoffman on Oct. 18, 2013

A former key aide for Wyoming's senior senator has become one of the latest revolving door lobbyists, signing on to the American Chemistry Council's account at Kountoupes | Denham.

Randi Reid left Capitol Hill in September after 13-plus years of service. As Sen. Mike Enzi's (R-Wyo.) legislative director, Reid assisted the office and the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee with health care issues. Within her first month on K Street, Reid has started lobbying on behalf of Pepco, the utility, and the American Chemistry Council, which represents the chemical industry. Reid is lobbying for ACC on issues related to regulation of BPA, a chemical used in many plastics and epoxy resins that has been possibly linked to miscarriages.

Reid's disclosure indicates that she will abide by the law and not lobby the Senate for at least a year after her employment there.
