Rep. Bucshon subcommittee aide joins software giant's government affairs shop

Posted by Katie Barrows on Nov. 14, 2013

A research and technology committee aide has left the Hill for a government relations job at a software giant.

Jamie Brown has been hired by CA Technologies Inc. as a director of global government relations. Before joining CA, Brown served both on the Hill and in the private sector. Brown's 6-year career in Congress began in 2003 as a staff assistant to Rep. Sherry Boehlert (R-N.Y.). He then moved to the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, working as a staff assistant until joining Russ Reid Co. in 2006. While there, Brown served as the agency's new business director.

After five years off the Hill, Brown rejoined the staff of the House Science Space and Technology Committee as a professional staff member for the Research and Technology Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN).

CA Technologies is an Islandia, N.Y.-based company that specializes in systems software. The software giant has been the subject of a number of lawsuites for overcharging goverment agencies for software maintenance plans. Within the last week, the company has agreed to settle these suits with a $11 million dollar payout.
