Sen. Alexander top aide drops off Facebook after child porn charges

Posted by LegiStorm on Dec. 16, 2013

The top Capitol Hill aide arrested on child pornography allegations last week is not taking friend requests any longer.

Ryan Loskarn, who Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) put on unpaid administrative leave as chief of staff after police raided his apartment, is not on Facebook as of last week. The social media site says his page is no longer available and he cannot be found in the site's search engine.

Shortly after his arrest Wednesday, LegiStorm discovered independent evidence that a rare internet handle that Loskarn used and which personally identifies him was used to promote child pornography on the web. The videos uploaded by this user as recently as this month purported to show boys having sex with their fathers. After LegiStorm's story, prosecutors released documents saying pornography involving  underage boys, as well as girls, were found on his computer's hard drive.

Loskarn also gave up his Twitter account sometime recently too. Loskarn's last retweet on Oct. 28 was one originally from his boss, Sen. Alexander: "With #Wikileaks & #Snowden spilling our beans ... what's happening on the #Obamacare exchanges is the only secret left in #Washington."

At that point, maybe not the only secret left in Washington.
