TechAmerica lobbyist returns to the Hill

Posted by Jenna Ebersole on Jan. 16, 2015

A registered lobbyist with TechAmerica has become Rep. Randy Forbes' (R-Va.) new judiciary legislative assistant.

Burak Guvensoylar was federal government relations manager at TechAmerica from 2011 until December, joining Forbes' office in January. He handles law, immigration, telecommunications and crime and law enforcement issues in his new job with Forbes.

Guvensoylar lobbied Congress on a range of topics, including education technology and student data privacy, reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank and trade in the technology industry, according to lobbying filings. TechAmerica is a trade association that lobbies on behalf of the technology industry in Washington and across the U.S.

During an initial stint on the Hill in 2011, Guvensoylar also served as an intern in the office of Republican Rep. Ed Whitfield of Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's in political science in 2010.
