House staffer finds the ways and means to a deficit-hawk job

A House Ways and Means subcommittee staffer has had enough of the federal deficit and joined the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

Erich Hartman is no stranger to the non-profit group. Before joining Congress in 2014, he spent three months there. His subsequent one-and-a-half years with the Ways and Means Committee's Social Security Subcommittee under Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Texas) has entitled him to a promotion with the group from program associate to senior program associate.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget boasts an array of former congressional budget chairmen and heads of the various federal budget agencies as board members. The group describes is mission as being "committed to educating the public about issues that have significant fiscal policy impact."
