Ukrainian MP hires Trump-connected foreign agent

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Sept. 18, 2017

A Ukrainian politician and sunflower-seed tycoon hired a public-affairs firm with ties to President Trump ahead of the politician's visit to the U.S., according to a disclosure recently filed with the Justice Department.

Serhey Rybalka hired Potomac International Partners, working through contractor Meadowood Management, to arrange meetings between Rybalka and U.S. government officials. Potomac International Partners founder and CEO, Mark Cowan, served as a member of Trump's Labor Department transition team.

The filing does not specify the purpose for Rybalka's visit to the U.S. last week, and it's unclear which officials he met with. Meadowood Management paid $30,000 to Potomac International for the deal.
