Rep. Eshoo adds open-Internet lobbyist

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Nov. 15, 2017

Ahead of a renewed net-neutrality battle, Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) has added an open-Internet lobbyist to her legislative staff.

Katherine Forscey, now Eshoo's senior technology policy adviser, most recently worked as associate counsel for government affairs at Public Knowledge, an advocacy group that promotes open Internet and communication policies. There, Forscey lobbied Congress on a number of tech issues, including net neutrality and the proposed AT&T-Time Warner merger.

Eshoo, who previously served as ranking member to the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, has voiced strong support for net neutrality laws, which are expected to come under additional fire in coming days.
