Maternal-health group births new job for Senate aide

Posted by Keturah Hetrick on Nov. 20, 2017

A maternal-health charity has found a new source of talent - the office of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).

Alyson Northrup is now a government-affairs specialist for the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs. She had worked for Gillibrand's office since 2012, most recently as a legislative assistant handling the senator's health, families and social welfare portfolios.

AMCHP, which receives funding through Department of Health and Human Services programs, lobbies Congress mainly on public-health appropriations bills.
