Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Goodlatte notified the House that he had been served with a subpoena for documents by the United States District Court and that after consulation with the Office of General Counsel, he had determined that compliance is not consistent with the privileges and rights of the House.
