QUESTION OF PRIVILEGE - Ms. Slaughter, pursuant to rule IX, rose to a question of the privileges of the House and submitted a resolution which was reported to the House. Subsequently, the Chair ruled that the resolution did not constitute a question of privilege and Ms. Slaughter appealed the ruling of the Chair. Mr. Stivers moved to lay the appeal on the table. The Chair put the question on the motion to table the appeal and announced that, by voice vote, the ayes had prevailed. Ms. Slaughter demanded the yeas and nays which were ordered.

POSTPONED PROCEEDINGS - At the conclusion of debate on the H. Res. 462, the Chair put the question on adoption of the resolution and by voice vote announced that the ayes had prevailed. Mr. McGovern demanded the yeas and nays and the Chair announced that further proceedings on the question of adoption of the resolution would be postponed until a time to be announced.

Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on October 7, 2015 at 11:05 a.m.: That the Senate passed H.R. 34 with an amendment; H.R. 3116 with an amendment; and that the Senate had agreed to S. Con. Res. 22.
