Campaign press release from Office of Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC)

Nancy Mace: Templeton Caught Photobombing Larry Grooms

CATHERINE TEMPLETON CAUGHT PHOTOBOMBING LARRY GROOMS AT BILL SIGNING Sen. Larry Groom Holds a Press Conference on the Bill that Templeton Takes Credit For Writing

April 26th, 2024 – CHARLESTON, S.C. – Nancy Mace’s campaign called out Catherine Templeton for a photo intentionally misleading Lowcountry voters to try to convince them she wrote S 20 Act 69, which was actually authored by Senator Larry Grooms.

Templeton thought she could convince voters to believe her by posting a picture of Grooms at a press conference for the bill, while she was photobombing in the background.

“Templeton wrongly thought she could convince voters she wrote an immigration reform bill by being in the background of a photo from a press conference with the bill’s actual author,” said Mace spokeswoman Gabrielle Lipsky. “Photobombing seems to be the only thing she did with this immigration bill….”

The author of S 20 Act 69, Senator Grooms, endorsed Congresswoman Mace this week in response to Templeton falsely taking credit for his legislation.

TEMPLETON’S FAILING IMMIGRATION RECORD

Templeton’s career as a Columbia bureaucrat can be defined by her record, where she:

Lied about authoring an immigration bill drafted by Senator Larry Grooms
Fired 85 percent of South Carolina’s immigration enforcement agents during her time at the SC LLR
Apologized for calling immigrants invading our southern border “illegal aliens,” much like Joe Biden did and within 24 hours of each other

MACE’S TOUGH RECORD ON IMMIGRATION

Rep. Mace has been a consistent fighter for securing the southern border and keeping illegal aliens out of the Lowcountry, by:

Calling out Joe Biden and the DC Establishment.
Voting for the End the Border Catastrophe Act.
Voting to impeach the Sec. of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
Introducing the Violence Against Women By Illegal Aliens Act.
Voting for the Secure the Border Act (HR2).
Voting for the Homeland Security appropriations bill.
Introducing the Northern Triangle Asylum Cooperative Agreement Reimplementation Act to return to President Trump’s tough border security policies.
