Ms. Bordallo moved to suspend the rules and agree to the resolution.

The Speaker announced that votes on suspensions, if ordered, will be postponed until the conclusion of general debate on all suspensions.

The House received a communication from the Honorable Tom Lantos. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Lantos notified the House that he had been served with a trial subpoena for testimony issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and further that the underlying case has since been voluntarily dismissed. Accordingly, the subpoena is now moot and it is unnecessary for Mr. Lantos to make the determinations required by Rule VIII.

The House received a communication from Laura L. Lee, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of Rick Boucher. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Ms. Lee notified the House that she had been served with a subpoena issued in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia for testimony and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, she had determined that compliance with the subpoena is consistent with the precedents and privilieges of the House.

The House received a message from the Senate. The Senate passed S. 1679, S. 2168, S. 2110, S. 2290, S. 2174, and S. 2272. Senate agreed to S. Con. Res. 55 and S. Con. Res. 56.

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on November 16, 2007, at 3:34 p.m., stating that that body had passed S. 1679, S. 2168, S. 2110, S. 2290, S. 2174, S. 2272, S.Con.Res. 55, S.Con.Res. 56, H.R. 2761 with an amendment, H.R. 50, H.R. 465, H.R. 3572, H.R. 3446, H.R. 3382, H.R. 3325, H.R. 3308, H.R. 3530, H.R. 3518, H.R. 3307, H.R. 3297, H.R. 2276 and H.R. 2089.
