Client Spending Over Time

2024 Q1 Client Spending by Issue (external contracts)

2024 Q1 Spending by Organization Type (external contracts)

Organizations that have both in-house and outside contracts will be counted in both categories for "number of organizations" but the in-house spending and spending on external contracts are considered separately to avoid double-counting dollars spent. Spending per issue is estimated as the percentage of the total income or expenses on a contract, calculated by dividing the number of lobbyists assigned to an issue by the total lobbyist-issue assignments. Party affiliation is based on the past political positions (mostly congressional) of revolvers lobbying for the firm or client on external contracts during the same quarter. See the About page for more details.
