DASA was originally formed in 1988 by a group of hockey parents who wanted to bring indoor ice to Delano. Through countless hours of volunteerism, donations from area businesses, and much sweat equity, the area came to life and was opened in 1990 for the youth and boys high school teams. The old wood boards came out of a field in Princeton, MN, the compressors, now over 30 years old, were used from another facility which had recently upgraded. The brackets to install the wood boards were donated by a local business. Families and businesses in the local area came together to make the vision and reality. They paid it forward for our youth of today. Now we're hoping our hockey community will do the same. As the facility ages, there are things in need of repair and replacement. DASA is working to continue to use user fees from it's rentals to pay for these items, however, there are some which will require other funding sources.
