Congressional Study Group on Germany

Acronym: CSGG

Information

Organization's Own Description:

The Congressional Study Group on Germany is an independent, non-partisan and non-advocacy organization that promotes legislative exchanges between the U.S. Congress and German Bundestag. Since 1983, the Study Group has created an ongoing forum for frank and candid dialogue about the most pressing issues affecting the U.S-German and transatlantic relationships. The Study Group provides first-hand opportunities for policy makers, academics, journalists and business leaders (led by our Business Advisory Council) to discuss issues of critical concern and build strong and lasting relationships based on mutual interest and trust. Programs address a wide range of timely issues, with trade, economics, energy, foreign policy, and security generally the main focus. Among the Study Group’s core activities are the Congress-Bundestag Seminar that alternates each year between Germany and the U.S., senior congressional staff trips to Germany, and frequent roundtable discussions on Capitol Hill that bring together Members of Congress, congressional staff, business leaders, diplomats, policy experts, administration officials, and journalists.
