POSTPONED PROCEEDINGS - At the conclusion of debate on H.Res. 587, the Chair put the question on ordering the previous question and by voice vote, announced that the ayes prevailed. Mr. Sessions demanded the yeas and nays and the Chair postponed further proceedings on ordering the previous question on H.Res. 587 until later in the legislative day.

The House received a communication from the Honorable Mrs. Tauscher . Mrs. Tauscher submitted her resignation from the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. The resignation was accepted without objection.

The Chair announced that she had examined the Journal of the last day's proceedings and had approved it. Mr. Murphy (CT) demanded that the question be put on agreeing to the Speaker's approval of the Journal and by voice vote, the Chair announced that the ayes had prevailed. Mr. Murphy(CT) objected to the voice vote based upon the absence of a quorum and the Chair postponed further proceedings on the question of the Speaker's approval of the Journal until later in the legislative day.
